A little bird tells me that the Ashlar Planning Application is dead

The washing lines of Shalfleet Parish are humming this morning with the rumour that the Spectrum application to build a social housing estate in Ningwood is dead. At the time of writing it's not clear whether Spectrum backed-out of the scheme or whether it was turned down by the IWC. The proposed social housing estate, almost opposite the Horse and Groom, bordering on Shalfleet Primary School, was deeply unpopular with local residents because of the environmental impact though it was strongly supported by Shalfleet Parish Council. Residents have been asking why the Shalfleet Parish Council has supported a project that is so out of line with the wishes of parishioners.

Well, if this is true I certainly hope the cost of the traffic/speed survey currently being undertaken isn't being taken from the public purse.
