The Warlands Lane Estate Meetings Friday 23rd May 2014

There is to be a public meeting on Friday 23rd May to discuss the proposed Warlands Lane Estate housing development.  The meeting is to be held in the Shalfleet Hall, at 1830.  Following which there is due to be a Parish Council meeting in the same room.  All welcome to both meetings, of course.

Sadly, the Isle of Wight Parking Consultation ends on the 6th June so it seems that our Parish Council will not give the Parish opinion on that.

  1. I thought Simon Jacobs got off quite lightly at the public meeting. He talked about how many improvements his family had made on the Manor land and this is true. However, it's obvious why they retained the land at the rear of Fleet Way - a potential site for more houses!!! And selling land with planning permission granted is a big money-spinner for the Jacobs! He didn't quite convince me that he is only doing this for philanthropic reasons!!!!

  2. He wrote to the IWC by comment letter about the Ashlar proposal (also a Spectrum Unaffordable Housing Estate) after the expiry of comments to Ashlar. I suspect this is a little ploy for Spectrum to get back into Ashlar but pay the landowners less. Pure speculation on my part, without a shred of evidence, I would add.
